What about the use of language?

Hello fellow writers and readers! Since my studies finally are held on premises of my University, I have been caught up with all the moving and adapting of going back to Uni.

Anyways, I have been thinking a lot about writing and becoming a good writer. I also have been reading books, which are in the same field as my book. Thus I have a great opportunity to analyze these books, while I write mine.

When I was little I did not like to read anything. Getting older and re-reading books I was forced to read in school or by my mom, I came to a conclusion. Basically, those books I had to read were written in rather hard language. In other words - language, structure and wording was not cohesive in those books whatsoever. And when you think about it from a child’s perspective - it makes complete sense not to like reading. Children have a completely other universe going on in their head - fantasy world that is crazy amazing! But when you have some kind of barrier in order to fantasize while reading, it becomes less and less entertaining to do so.

But what are the chances same theory works also for young adults and… adults as well? That would make complete sense once again, in my opinion. Therefore, I believe that in order to write a good, enjoyable and easily readable book, you have to start with simple cohesiveness in language.

What are your thoughts? Perhaps you have different opinion about this topic, I would really love to hear!
