Hello, fellow writers and readers! As promissed- next up is the second book in the book series by Josephine Angelini called Trial by Fire: Firewalker.
So Firewalker caches up with the events, which occurs after Lily manages to not only jump herself back into her universe, but also take Rowan with her.
This part focuses more on what happened after Lily disappeared, how it impacted lives of her loved ones, and even how FBI got involved in all of this.
Since Rowan also jumped in Lily’s universe, he continued to practice that so called magic (in books that ability had a different name, I cannot remember what it was, since I read the book back in January and I am too lazy to search it now in one of the books, sorry :D). Consequently he and Lily had to teach these abilities to some of Lily’s friends, in order to survive. The FBI has a much deeper meaning and story line in this book than it seems at first!
The book ends with Lily jumping the worlds once again, and now she managed to not only jump herself and Rowan, but also three other friends with her. The jumping part is kind of graphic to imagine- not the most beautiful scene of the book for sure.
Anyhow, my conclusions after reading the second book of the series. Well firstly, because I wanted to start reading the third book sooo bad (mostly because I liked the cover of the last book the most, which is damn childish, I’m aware) I didn’t enjoy this book as mush as I should have. However, now that I look back, I must say, that I really liked the plot of the second book after-all. It was kind of refreshing and fun, whereas the first one was more adventurous and intense. I liked how other people from Lily’s universe got introduced with all the powers and abilities they practice in the other universe. It was really cool. I would say that the author did a really great job, especially because the second book was very interesting to read. Meaning, based on my experience, in book series of three, the second book is usually the most boring. Not in this case though! Overall I would say this far a really great series- entertaining, interesting and a bit educational.
Hope to see some comments, have a great one yall! :)
